Developed beginning in 1915 on land once owned by U.S. Senator Thomas Palmer, the subdivision was designed to feel like a private woodland retreat. Landscape architect Ossian Cole Simonds created the signature curved streets, large lots, and natural topography that give Palmer Woods its distinct character.
